Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat, or the Four Kings, is an archipelago that lies on the northwestern tip of the Bird's Head Peninsula on the island of New Guinea in the Indonesian province of West Papua. You can get here from Jakarta by direct flight which takes 4 hours. I have personally visited this area several times as a diving instructor on a safari ship - Sea Safari Cruises. The Raja Ampat archipelago straddles the equator and forms part of the Coral Triangle, which contains the richest marine biodiversity on Earth. Raja Ampat is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful destinations in all of Indonesia, and you can only find such rich underwater life as here in a few places in the world. Daily you can observe coral reefs of many colors and shapes lined with large schools of various fishes with sharks or manta rays. We will sail through the mangroves on a hollowed-out canoe and dive without equipment into the colorful underwater world among sharks, turtles and stingrays. Sharks are quite abundant in Raja Ampat (Indonesia, Papua Barat). Diving at Raje is suitable even for beginners in some locations, but the best reefs and dives take place in the current and at depth. Experienced divers with Advanced and Nitrox licenses will therefore enjoy their dives much better. A lot of the wonderful life is deep and dives often start at 25 meters. The water temperature is approximately 28 °C. Diving bottles have universal DIN/INT valves, so you can do without a reducer. Guides and boat crews are experienced and have a perfect knowledge of the local conditions, which is a must for safe diving in the currents. Raja Ampat - diving suit and for me the TOP location of Indonesia. I offer you peaceful and experiential dives in complete privacy, no large group events. The best time to visit the Raja Ampat archipelago is from October to April. The temperature of the air and the ocean is practically the same all year round, but during June and August there is a strong wind and the sea is not so calm.
